Varied Terrain and Tarp

 Goal(s) :

Transition from grass to tarp to accustom the horse to different types of surfaces and to desensitize to noise.

 Process :

Introduce the exercise to the horse, allowing it to sniff the tarp. Gradually move forward until all four hooves are on the tarp.
You can adapt by adding water to reduce the noise of the tarp (elevate the edges to prevent the water from escaping).

 Difficulties :

User's note: We created a wooden frame with a tarp to accustom horses to different surfaces. The frame will later allow us to use it as a container to add water, plastic bottles, sand, etc.
