Goal(s) :
Work on the sequence of straightness and bending in curves.
Process :
This exercise can be performed at the trot or canter. Approach the first ground pole straight and forward. Ask for a half-circle, bending your horse. Proceed to the centerline which includes a ground pole followed by a cavaletti. Upon landing, ask for another half-circle to finish straight over the last pole.
Difficulties :
Linking straight lines and curves requires the horse to be dynamic and attentive. The half-circle immediately after the cavaletti can be more challenging.
