Goal(s) :
The horse-rider pair maintains focus from start to finish to prevent run-outs.
Process :
Set up a cavaletti, a jump, and a water tray on a curve.
Variations:
The cavaletti can be a ground pole.
Start with a crossrail, and as the session progresses, you can set up a vertical and eventually an oxer.
You can align two water trays to prevent run-outs, especially with horses that are not accustomed to jumping water trays.
Difficulties :
There is a risk of run-outs at the water tray as it is at the curve's exit and at the end of the line, so the pair must be 100% focused.
