Goal(s) :
Control, vary, and maintain the stride length and rhythm.
Process :
1. Enter at a canter on the line of verticals (which do not necessarily need to be high), jump the first, perform a circle while maintaining the gait, then jump the second. Return to the track and extend the canter to jump the second line. If the stride length is insufficient, the horse will run out or refuse the oxer and will not be able to fit 2 strides between the obstacles. 2. Enter at a collected canter (important!) on the line of verticals, jump the first and put 5 strides between the two obstacles, then jump the second. Return to the track, extend the canter, and jump the second line. Collect the gait to re-jump the first line, putting in 5 strides. 3. Jump the vertical-oxer line with 2 strides in an extended canter, return to the track, perform a circle while maintaining the gait, then take the next diagonal, changing lead (either flying change or by transitioning to trot) and jump the line of two verticals, always putting in 5 strides. Note: It is possible to combine these three sequences.
Difficulties :
Putting the correct number of strides and maintaining the gait in the turns.
