Goal(s) :
Work on isolated jumps in a small sequence.
Process :
Warm up over the individual jumps. Then sequence the oxer, followed by the cavaletti on the diagonal, then the vertical, and repeat in the reverse direction.
This exercise allows for adjusting the height according to the rider and horse on a simple small sequence with different jump profiles.
It also helps build confidence for both the rider and the horse with cavalettis placed in front of the jumps.
Difficulties :
Keeping the horse straight, achieving smooth curves, especially in a small arena.
