Goal(s) :
To work on impulsion, responsiveness, and flexion/acceptance of the bit during transitions.
Process :
Begin by picking up canter on a straight line, then ride onto a 20m or 15m circle. Make a downward transition to trot halfway around the circle (marked by a gate with cones). Maintain this gait for a quarter of the circle, then transition back to canter for the final quarter and continue on the straight line in canter. The exercise can also be performed in trot/walk/trot or canter/walk/canter transitions.
