Work area
Arena
Necessary equipment
2 Poles
Goal(s) :
Successfully ask for transitions between trot and canter while paying attention to your position.
Process :
Place a ground pole at the letter C or A in your arena, then place another pole directly opposite on a circle. When you pass the pole at A or C, you should be in trot. After crossing the pole, ask your horse to transition into canter. Once you pass the opposite pole, transition back to trot, and continue this pattern in both directions.
You can work on your position by adopting a two-point seat (light seat) when riding over the poles.
Difficulties :
The main difficulty is maintaining canter and controlling your direction.
