Necessary equipment

5 Poles 10 Stands

Goal(s)

Improve the horse's balance, strengthen hindquarters engagement, work on coordination and responsiveness, enhance rider communication.

Process

1. Approach the line at a trot or canter depending on the goal (canter recommended for sequence work and impulsion).
2. Bounce Jump 1: work on coordination, balance, and responsiveness. The horse should remain straight and dynamic, without speeding up or slowing down.
3. 2 strides to the cross rail: manage the pace without allowing the horse to accelerate. The cross rail will help center the jump.
4. 2 strides after the cross rail: same principle, keep the horse energetic and balanced.
5. Bounce Jump 2: ensure the horse remains attentive and connected despite the accumulated effort, without rushing.

Finish: You can end with a straight line or turn directly after the last bounce jump to check responsiveness to seat and legs.

Difficulties

loss of rhythm, lack of engagement, poorly managed bounce jump, not straight, rider's role
