Type of session

Jumping Medium

Work area

Arena

Necessary equipment

2 Poles 2 Cavalettis 6 Cones

Goal(s)

successfully perform flying changes to approach a jump with a different lead and finish on a small double (exercise to be practiced in both directions)

Process

In a slalom, start with a flying change on the track, pass between two cones, perform a flying change, position straight to approach the jump and repeat twice. At the end, pass behind the last cone, and aim for the center of the cavalettis to realign the horse.

Difficulties

turns, flying changes, approaching the jump, staying straight (option to take a 'shortcut' by passing in front of the cavalettis, creating a tighter curve for riders seeking a challenge)

Jumping | Easy

The horse will settle into the ground poles, and this repetition will help him develop a regular stride followed by an easy jump. This setup will require riders to become invisible and simply feel the sensations of a good approach, maintaining the balance of the canter.
